Interested in joining the Policy Research Project Team to develop and publish white paper, articles, and recommendations that will inform NSBE's leadership and members, local communities, and the nation? Presentation Outline:

  1. Discuss Project Team Mission and Goals
  2. Share Project Team Research Themes for the Year
  3. Offer Opportunity to Serve as a Team Members for the following Projects/Activities:
  • Develop White Paper on NSBE's Impact on Workforce Diversity in Engineering over the last 20 years
  • Develop White Paper on Adoption of New Technologies in Communities of Color
  • Research New STEM bills presented to Congress and share findings
  • Present at NSBE Public Policy SIG Training
  • Write Personal Essays which will be reviewed by Project Team Members and vetted for publication
  • Develop recommendations to Administration or Congress on STEM Education Reform, Community Policing, or Sustainable Environments in Resource Poor Communities
  • Make recommendations to NSBE Leadership on evaluating the strategy being implemented to increase the number of Engineers over the next 10 years.
  1. Become a Public Policy SIG advisor to another SIG
  2. Partner with another organization to complete a research project

After the call, the group will receive follow-up emails on their selections. They will be provided instructions and a timeline for completion of work.  Leads will be identified within the first week. In addition, an opportunities to join the working groups will be shared during upcoming conferences. 

The end result is to have deliverables throughout the year to show that the group is active.

We would hope to share the information on a platform for others to review and share.
